With barely one year to go until the next VISION trade fair, preparations for the event are underway and the prospects are very promising, as the organisers announced during the VISION/VDMA (German Engineering Federation) CEO Round Table in Frankfurt.
"The market for machine vision is continuing to grow – the use of machine vision technologies is indispensable for electrical automation. Of course, this gives our trade fair impetus," states Florian Niethammer, Project Manager for the Messe Stuttgart. "In 2014 alone, machine vision grew by 16% in Germany."
VISION presents the complete range of machine vision technology every second year and will next take place from 8th to 10th November 2016 in Stuttgart. The event stands out thanks to its distinctly international flavour – in 2014, 54% of the exhibitors came from abroad – in addition to its top-class exhibitors and a varied supporting programme. "Industrial VISION Days", under the direction of the VDMA's Machine Vision Association as VISION's professional and conceptual partner, will feature in the programme for 2016 again. "In 2014, we recorded a significant increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors. In cooperation with the VDMA and our exhibitors, we are currently adding the finishing touches to a programme of events with new highlights which we hope will attract more visitors to Stuttgart. This includes first-time visitors and those who wish to get to grips with the basics of the advantages that machine vision has to offer," explains Florian Niethammer. "Popular topics which will accompany us into 2016 are expected to range from embedded vision to machine vision integrated in a control system."
Over 400 exhibitors are expected to participate in VISION 2016. Market leaders such as Basler, Cognex, Datalogic, ISRA Vision, MVTec and Stemmer Imaging are among the 220 exhibitors who have already signed up.
